Fostering young talent to ensure the best crews: Since the establishment of NSBacademy the development of young talent and successor management have been an integral part of our corporate philosophy, whereby the international reputation of our officers and sailors is of utmost importance to us. We work together with NSB Crewing Solutions, which allows us to adjust the curricula of training programs and special courses to address real-life operational problems. Cadets are trained on our own simulator at the NSB training center to prepare them for the, in part, tough conditions at sea. Besides technical content, soft skills and social behavior are part of the curriculum. They help graduates, among them an increasing share of women, to integrate into the day-to-day working environment and grow both professionally and personally.

One of NSBacademy’s aims is to raise the share of female seafarers in our fleet. To achieve that aim, NSB has developed a special cadetship program to offer women the opportunity to pursue a career at sea.
