Cumulated experience in shipping business

In 2005, Tim Ponath joined REEDEREI NSB. He ran through different steps by taking over responsibility: Newbuilding Management, Fleet Management and Technical Management & Services. In 2014 he was appointed to the management as COO and in 2019 he took over as CEO.

He was and is the main driver of developing and executing our company’s vision. This comprises a comprehensive reorganization process from REEDEREI NSB, a German ship management company mainly operating German KG vessels, to an international fleet management & maritime service provider under the brand NSB GROUP with headquarter in Germany and subsidiaries in China, Philippines, Singapore, Korea, and Sri Lanka. Tim Ponath has studied business engineering and mechanical engineering and is a skilled industrial mechanic. He is a big supporter of electromobility. Tim is married and has two daughters.

Malte Hunold has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He will assume his new role on October 1, 2026. Since 2022, Hunold has served as Vice President Financial Services, overseeing the Group-wide finance function of NSB GROUP. In this role, he has played a key part in advancing the organization’s finance operations. His achievements include the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and the optimization of Group-wide governance and performance management structures.

Before joining the NSB GROUP, he headed Finance and Accounting at GEFO Gesellschaft für Oeltransporte mbH. Prior to that, he served as Director Accounting at Hapag-Lloyd and held various management positions at the classification society DNV.
