Charta der Vielfalt
More than just a signed piece of paper
The ‘Charta der Vielfalt’ (Vielfalt is German and means diversity) is Germany’s largest network for promoting diversity. The network is concerned with promoting the living and working together of people from different cultures, with different skin colours, nationalities, sexualities, and physical and mental abilities. This is an approach that we, as a global shipping company, have had in our blood for a long time and live by as a matter of course. By signing the Charta, we are once again underlining our commitment to diversity.
But diversity means much more, as it also refers to the coexistence of many approaches, ideas, ways of working and lifestyles. Diversity is a component for a responsible and trusting corporate culture in which it is possible for all employees to optimally develop their talents and abilities and to contribute them to the company. Here, too, we are constantly evolving as a company and rely on this exchange.
“The constant change in the world of work resulting from globalization requires and makes it possible to respect and promote international competencies and to benefit from them holistically. This is how a company manages to be attractive to potential applicants and to remain attractive to its employees. Recognizing potential and valuing diversity creates a positive working environment that opens up complex markets, provides diverse solutions and inspires customers,” says Caroline Baumgärtner, Head of People Onshore and Talent Development.
